“City Conquest” is an upcoming drama based on a comic with the same title. The production team for this drama is the same as the one from “Athena: Goddess of War.” It is being filmed in various locations such as the US, Japan, China and more.
The scene in this still was filmed on July in Japan. The still captures Baek Mir’s passionate love for his woman, Lee Dan Bi (played by Jung Yoo Mi).
According to Key East Entertainment, Kim Hyun Joong showed great acting skills. His moist eyes and his detailed emotional acting especially stood out. It is reported that this scene also proved the great chemistry between Kim Hyun Joong and Jung Yoo Mi.
Kim Hyun Joong will shed his past, soft image. Baek Mir is a strong young man who struggles with the loss of both parents and had a rough upbringing. But he transforms into a weak man in front of love.
“City Conquest” is set to air sometime in 2012.

There's one thing not many K-Pop fans do and many might not know is possible to do unless you're really part of a fandom: visit an artist's restaurant. Many have started businesses around Seoul; often they are partners or their relative owns the restaurant. The most popular is probably JYJ Junsu's parents' pizza place Misarang, but there are definitely more. As an exchange student in Seoul at the moment, I will visit some of these restaurants, check out prices and describe the easiest way to get there.
The first restaurant to introduce is Jaksal Chicken. It is owned by SS501's Kim Hyun Joong and is located very close to Seokchon station on the pink line number 8. He actually owns another one, bigger and on the other end of Seoul in Ilsan, but today we will just start with Jaksal.
To go there, take the pink line number 8 and get off at Seokchon station. Depending on where you are in Seoul, it could take more than half an hour to get there. Also I would suggest going during the early afternoon and try to take the train back early, since Seoul's subways tend to be very crowded during the evening hours.
When you arrive at the station, follow the signs and go to exit number 7. From there, go straight until you get to the first side street. It's big so you won't miss it. Go straight again for around 50 meters and you'll see it on the left side on a corner to another side street.
You might be surprised to face a pretty small restaurant, one of those you see on Korea's streets a lot. There's a small tent outside with plastic chairs and tables, and inside, maybe enough space for 20 customers.
The menu is not huge, mostly variations of chicken, like garlic chicken, spicy chicken, etc. with a salad. But there is more to it as well; Ddokbokki is also on the menu as well as Budaejjigae. Prices go up to around 17,000 won, but the menu is made up of dishes fit for two, so you might want to make sure to go with a friend which makes it a) more fun to be there, b) cheaper and c) you'll probably finish the whole dish.
If you're not sure about what to order and are not fluent in Korean, one of the waiters working at the place speaks very good English and is quite nice, so don't hesitate to talk to him.
My friend and I decided to go with the Budaejjigae, which is basically a stew, with sausage, noodles, vegetables, fishcake, dumplings and a lot more in it. You get the hot pot on your table and finish cooking it there. It was 16,000 won and was actually pretty satisfying.
I must also say, I would not have expected it to be as delicious as it was, since I assume they will get customers anyway, because Kim Hyun Joong's name is attached to it and his face is plastered all over the place, but I have definitely tasted way worse budaejjigae since coming to Korea two months ago.
If you are not a fan but are around this area, it's a cheap place to get very good food with a nice atmosphere. And if you are a fan, then definitely go there. Most of the fans probably go to the bigger one in Ilsan, so this is a quiet place to enjoy the food and look around at the pictures of Kim Hyun Joong hanging there without being intrusive.

Some of us will be familiar with the South Korean handsome young men in the list. ”Walking sculpture,” Kim Hyun Joong topped the list. Won Bin, Hyun Bin, Kang Dong-won, Yoo, high repair, SJS, Benny Kun, Song Zhongji, Zheng Yucheng, etc. were among the top ten. Collaborating with B'Z, Kim HyunJoong's all-rounded flexiblity Many Korean idol groups are gaining many popularity in Japan indeed but as a solo singer Kim HyunJoong have proven his overwhelming ability in Japan. For the first time, Japan's well-known rock band, B'Z have composed song for other artistes which garnered many attentions. With the soft charismatic side of him in dramas as well as the rocker side of him in music, here's Kim HyunJoong's interview from Vogue Japan.
Kim HyunJoong's performance on stage had always been a mesmerizing one for fans below stage. With his charming bright smile, sexy yet masculine image together with his 4-dimensional answers during interview indeed have captured many young hearts out there. If we do not pay enough attention to what he was trying to say, we might not have any idea what he just said!
Q: Kim HyunJoong is actually a tough guy but also having a tender and gentle side of him, right? A: I think I have both the personalities. On stage I showed the manly side of me, in dramas I showed the gentle side of me, whichever side it is, that's a side of me.
'4-Dimensional', 'Alien' character, a conversation on the great wisdom Kim HyunJoong who is a solo singer currently, debuted from the 5-member group SS501 since 2005. He is known as the 'Leader' as there's members with similar name (pronunciation).
Known for his handsome image, he was casted in the Korean version of 'Boys Over Flower' as Yoon Jihoo and also Baek Seungjo in 'Playful Kiss', expressing his talents well as well as his charisma.
What really made him rose to the popularity was the top Korean variety show 'We Got Married'. It is a variety show that pairs up Korean celebrities to show what life would be like if they were married. In this show, Kim HyunJoong was paired up with another Korean female celebrity who is 7 years older than him. There's a scene where Kim HyunJoong gave his driver's license photo to his 'wife' in the show with a small note 'If you are feeling lonely please see this' and because of this innocent behavior he was then known as 4-dimensional, attracting more fans' hearts.
A: No matter how true my attitude is in programs, I will also consider how I should present myself in programs before I talk or act. Obliging the rules and reading the scripts for TV programs or interviews beforehand in order to know what I should present to fans. Showing my true self to fans and getting good reviews from everyone is a blessed thing. (laughs)
Q: Is there any special '4D' reason behind why you are using a normal cell phone instead of using a smartphone? A: I feel alright even if I'm using a cellphone now (laughs) and I don't really mind what's in the top trend now. Because I rather prefer button-touching cellphone instead of the touchscreen smartphones, so perhaps I'll consider to continue using a cell phone.
Q: If you are not using a smartphone, what do you use to listen to other people's music on the go? A: Nothing (laughs). Because I spend more time in the car moving from place to place, so I'll usually turn on the radio to listen to music.
2nd single's song composed by B'Z After releasing his first solo album Break Down on June 2011, he had been very active in the music industry. He had also released his first Japanese single Kiss Kiss/Lucky Guy in January 2012 which topped the Japanese Oricon Chart in 2nd place. Next he released his 2nd Japanese single Heat in July 2012 which was composed by Japan's well-know band B'Z and it's the first time they have composed songs for other artistes.
Q: We heard that HyunJoong is also a fan of B'Z, having all their albums too. A: I think Matsumoto Takahiro and Inaba Koshi are a perfect combination group. Because they are very talented in composing unique songs and lyrics, I guess this is the reason why they were so loved back then. With the same reason, I am a big fan of them.
Q: Kim HyunJoong loved rock music very much. A: I've joined the band in my high school last time. In Korea I loved Seo Taiji and in Japan I loved B'Z. The song Heat is totally B'z's style. At first I was worried whether I could sing this song well enough but after endless times of practice, I'm indulged to the song already. I love the addicting tempo and lyrics. I will put all my effort in performing this song so to express what this song is supposed to bring.
Q: During the recording, Inoshi Koshi have taught you how to perform this song? A: He gave me some advice on how to express this song and thanks to him, this song was recorded perfectly. All in all, they are a well-respected sunbaes in the music industry and they are the ones I admire very much. I was very nervous when I first met them, but they were very friendly welcoming me. Working together with such well-respected sunbaes in the same studio, I've learned many new things. The Japanese single this time is the production of Japanese, and it's my first time performing a rock music, even though there are many challenges, but because of this challenges, I learned many new things and I'm very happy.
Appreciating every moments, practicing for his new drama Actually the Vogue video shooting took place at late night and after it ended, Kim HyunJoong returned to his hotel and did the interview and started practicing for his new drama.
A: I'm preparing for my upcoming drama 'City Conquest'. Even though I'm busy with the Asia Fanmeeting and time is insufficient. Even so I have schedules on that particular day, upon returning to the hotel, I will practice for my drama if I have any spare time.
Q: What is your character in the new drama? A: I'm Baek Mir in the drama who is a man struggling with abandonment and growing up an orphan, who falls head over in heels in love easily. He fights against the harsh world that tore his family apart. This is a total different character from before. As the shooting for the drama is around the corner, the determination to make this drama a success is becoming stronger and I will work hard for it.
Q: Heard that the first shooting location will be in Japan. The weather is very hot in the summer. A: I love working during the summer. Not only for the drama, but for my album as well as fanmeetings. Putting all my best into everything I do, becoming the only one in my fans' hearts.

The member of Kim Hyun Joong’s fan club, ‘Kim Hyun Joong Powerful S. My Club’, recently came together to collect some 10 million won which they donated to the ‘Heatless’ campaign. The campaign drive, which is taking place from July 30 through August 2, focuses on bringing relief to the elderly in Korea as the nation experiences an intense heat wave. The money donated by the fan club will enable the campaign to purchase 175 electric fans and 100 lightweight summer blankets for elderly citizens. Fan club member Lee Eun Kyung shared, “Thinking of our seniors who are spending the hot summer in cramped houses without proper ventilation made our hearts heavy and we’re happy [the donation] is of some help. We wanted to support Kim Hyun Joong’s upcoming drama City Conquest and wish it success.”
Kim Hyun Joong, touched by the kind act of his fan club, has responded by donating with them. Previously, Kim Hyun Joong’s fan club ‘Kim Hyun Joong Powerful S My Club’ donated 10 million won under Kim Hyun Joong’s name to the Beautiful Fund’s campaign to help provide relief to Korea’s elderly suffering from Korea’s worst heat wave in years. After word got to Kim Hyun Joong about the kind act, Kim Hyun Joong responded by also personally donating 50 million won on August 3. A representative for the Beautiful Fund shared, “After finishing his Asia fan meeting tour and returning to Korea on August 2, Kim Hyun Joong received the news his fan club had helped their fellow citizens through their donation and, after being moved by their action, decided to donate 50 million won to the Beautiful Fund.” From his donation, 30 million won will go towards helping the elderly provide relief from the heat wave while 20 million won will go towards scholarships for university student.

On August 6, the Beautiful Foundation, a non-profit public utility foundation, reported Kim’s fan club, Kim Hyun Joong Powerful S·My Club, donated ten million won to a campaign for senior citizens who live alone on August 1. After hearing the news, Kim also donated fifty million won to the foundation on August 3. A spokesperson for the Beautiful Foundation says, “Kim came back to Korea on August 2 after finishing his fan meeting tour of Asia. He heard the news that his fan club made a donation to help needy people and decided to donate fifty million won, touched by his fan club members who participated in the good work. He made the donation to the Beautiful Foundation on August 3.” Kim Mi Kyung, the executive director of the Beautiful Foundation, says, “There were many fan clubs who joined their celebrities’ good work, but it’s unusual for a celebrity to respond to his or her fan club’s donation. It proves that Korea’s fandom culture has become very mature along with the culture of donation.” Thirty million won out of the fifty million donated by Kim will be used for senior citizens who live alone and the rest twenty million won will be used as college students’ scholarship funds. The 246 members of Kim’s fan club, Kim Hyun Joong Powerful S·My Club, have donated a total of 0.13 billion won for three years to Kim Hyun Joong Scholarship Fund, founded by the Beautiful Foundation on February 17, 2010.

A few cuts from Kim Hyun Joong‘s recent photo shoot have been revealed.
The singer/actor who is currently endorsing casual clothing brand HANGTEN sported the brand’s newest line of eye-catching collared t-shirts and cotton pants.
What drew the most attention, however, were his broad shoulders and toned muscles that were outlined by his outfit.
Striking just the right poses, ‘dandy guy’ Kim Hyun Joong managed to look comfortable, fashionable, and masculine all at the same time.
Meanwhile, Kim Hyun Joong has been cast as the male lead in ‘City Conquest‘, with which he will be returning to the small-screen for the first time in two years.
